Who we are
This is my personal blog at the web address: https://amritabithi.com/.
When visitors leave comments on the site the data shown in the comments form is saved to the database, and if a user wishes to create their own user on this website the user information provided will be saved to the WordPress database to provide user functionality only. I do not collect any user information for marketing purposes or archive any visitor data with the exception of comments that users wish to leave on the website.
I will never send any users e-mail or any other type of marketing or promotion, the only e-mails users may receive from this website are a password reset link if they have created a WordPress user, a welcome e-mail for new user accounts, and in some cases you may receive an e-mail if a pending comment has been approved.
When users upload images to this website, they should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can potentially download and extract any location data from images on the website. A plugin is in use on this site which will attempt to strip out all EXIF metadata from all uploaded images by default, however it is a good practice to be aware of any possible image metadata that you may be uploading online.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
Who we share your data with
I do not share any data associated with this website with any other parties, with the exception of Google Analytics which will retain non-identifiable visitor metrics and in Google’s system by default, however I do not archive or use Analytics data for any purpose other than viewing the general usage statistics of my website and to diagnose errors in the site’s code.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely unless a user wishes it removed in which case I will remove the user comment at their request.
For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). I, the site administrator can also see and edit that information, however my policy is to ignore this data unless a circumstance requires editing it to fix a database or coding error, or to assist a user if requested with their account settings.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request that we erase your comments and/or user account in it’s entirety if you are unable to do so using the normal site functionality. I do not provide any parties any exported data under any circumstance, legal or otherwise, regardless of the nature or source of the request.
